SUMB 100th Year Celebration @Homecoming 2024

On Saturday, October 19, 2024 the Shippensburg University Marching Band commemorated their 100th season with a celebration during Homecoming weekend. Various events were available for alumni to attend.

PARADE: About 50 alumni Joined the SUMB in leading the Homecoming parade (no instruments). Parade started at 10AM in downtown Shippensburg and marched on to campus.  Alumni walked the full parade route by joining the band at 10AM, or joined the SUMB when it reached campus at Memorial Auditorium.

PRE-GAME: Alumni performed with the SUMB during their march over to Seth Grove Stadium and participated in the pre-game performance.

GAME TIME: Many Alumni enjoy a reserved seating section for SUMB alumni & guests immediately behind SUMB in the grandstands. Others joined the band with their instruments and played along with the band.  A picture was taken on the field after the SUMB's Post Game Performance. 

CELEBRATION: 100th Anniversary Celebration at Stewart Hall took place in the evening from 5PM – 7PM. The celebration included food and beverages as well as an exhibit of SUMB History, speeches from past directors, and time to socialize with old friends.
